The Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue Resource is pleased to include this section, Community Service, to our website. Occasionally people have asked for assistance in finding lost dogs or placing dogs into other homes because, for various reasons, they can no longer have them in their homes.
Because part of our mission is to provide resources for all animal lovers, we are now offering this service. However, because it is a referral resource, the Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue Resource cannot assume any responsibility for the health, condition or temperament of the dog. We hope that this free service can provide a broader communication for those animal lovers who need assistance.
If you have a posting you wish to make on this page, please click the "Contacts/Email" link on the menu and email your request to the "General Information" link.
If you have a listing on this page and your dog has been found or adopted so you no longer need the listing, please let us know so we may remove it and make room for others. Listings will be automatically removed after 30 days unless they are renewed.

Jackson, male, age 3

Jackson is a 3-year old Golden Retriever/Chow mix. He’s happy, healthy, active, affectionate…and very friendly. He’s great with children and other dogs.
He has been trained on an invisible fence… but does fine in the old-fashioned kind. He’s neutered, micro-chipped, and up on all his shots.
He was in a loving home with a 13 year old girl but the family situation has changed and unfortunately that leaves Jackson looking for a new home. He has adapted very quickly to his foster situation and looks to the other dogs in the household for guidance on behavior. He follows basic commands and is eager to please.
If you are interested in meeting Jackson…or seeing more pictures… please contact Liz Oakley at 843-442-1403 or lizoakley@ivsvideo.com

GOLDENS HELP FUND CANINE CANCER RESEARCH
There are very few of us who love and care for oldens who have not been touched by cancer in these Goldens. Sometimes we receive messages asking "What is being done about it?" Truly much is being done about it in terms of research, and a major player for the funding of this research is the Golden Retriever Foundation, and the contributors within the Golden Retriever "community".
The Golden Retriever Foundation (GRF) has pledged $500,000 over a five year period to the launch of Morris Animal Foundation’s Canine Cancer Campaign. We are the first breed foundation or club to pledge a major gift to this project.
Please read the press announcement ("Golden Retriever Foundation pledges $500,000 to Morris Animal Foundation Canine Cancer Campaign"). It will make you proud!
Help Needed
Jasper Animal Rescue Mission is Ridgeland, SC is desperately in need of help. They currently have between 50-80 animals over their capacity and will need to begin euthanizing these animals within the next 7-10 days to control the severe over-population.
They currently have only four employees to handle the daily influx of animals. There are simply not enough hands or hours in the day to take care of all these animals and they are receiving even more daily.
If your rescue or shelter can help, please let me know and I will happily forward your information to the ladies there. We have many wonderful dogs and cats that will make great companion animals, but unfortunately many of them will not ever get the chance without your help.
If you are a breed specific rescue that can help, please let me know and I will forward you information on the animals that meet your requirements.
Thank you all for any help you can give!
